Tottenham Hotspur forward Lucas Moura has thanked the club’s medical staff and his personal physio following his return from injury.

The Brazilian was posting on his Instagram account, following his appearance in Antonio Conte’s side’s 3-2 Champions League victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Moura had not played since he picked up a calf injury in the club’s 2-2 draw at Chelsea almost two months prior to Wednesday night’s Champions League fixture.

But the 30-year-old was brought onto the pitch for the final four minutes of Spurs’ Champions League group stage clash, providing a boost for Conte ahead of the visit of Everton this weekend.

Moura claimed that he had “missed” playing a lot during his time on the sidelines, in a post in which he thanked a multitude of people for helping him during his recovery.

I missed it a lot!!” Moura put on an Instagram post.

“Very happy to be back, especially on a Champions League night. Amazing feeling!

“Many thanks to all the medical staff, my personal physio @taiomarques, and everyone who helped me during this tough period, and also the fans for the incredible atmosphere.

“We keep going and fighting.”

TIF Thoughts on Moura’s post…

We think that Moura’s post is a touching tribute to those that have helped him through his recovery over the past few months, as he will have been worried about his place in the side with Conte having options such as Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, and Richarlison at his disposal.

In footballing matters, he provides an extra option in the forward line for Conte, and the 35-time Brazil option may be an option he chooses to use in order to give somebody like Kane a rest.

Therefore, whilst not likely to be a first-team regular, we think that Moura’s return to action will provide a huge boost for Conte’s side going into a busy schedule ahead of the World Cup.
