Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Davinson Sanchez has been labelled ‘dreadful’ following their victory on the south coast over the weekend.

This has been suggested by TalkSport pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor, who has been speaking on air following Spurs’ victory, claiming he’d never play the Colombian again.

Spurs got back to winning ways in the Premier League against Bournemouth on Saturday, but they did not make it easy for themselves in clinching the three points.

Antonio Conte’s men found themselves two goals behind shortly after the break, with the Colombian defender playing big roles in both of Kieffer Moore’s goals.

Tottenham Hotspur fans, who were these players sold to? Starting with an easy one: Gareth Bale

The 26-year-old was awarded his sixth league start of the season with Cristian Romero rested ahead of the Champions League game on Tuesday night against Marseille.

However, it is apparent Agbonlahor would not like to see Sanchez start another match anytime soon.

He said: “Very poor from Spurs today [Saturday], and another thing is, Sanchez – I wouldn’t play him again. I would not play him again for Spurs.”

And on the combination of Sanchez and Emerson Royal, he said: “It’s dreadful, isn’t it? Let’s be honest.”

TIF Thoughts on Agbonlahor’s comments…

It is not surprising to see this type of reaction on the back of that performance from Sanchez. The centre-back was nothing short of a disaster, with a particularly crazy piece of defending for Moore’s first goal.

Is Sanchez good enough for Spurs?

Yes

No

No

This is certainly highlighting a big issue in Spurs’ lack of quality in their squad, with serious problems among their defenders in the absence of Romero and Eric Dier.

Before being dragged off after 57 minutes, the 26-year-old failed to record a single tackle or block and provided just one interception (via SofaScore).

With a huge game in the Champions League on Tuesday, we’re sure Spurs fans will be hoping to see Romero return to the starting XI after what they saw from Sanchez on Saturday.
