Gabriel Agbonlahor has labelled Tottenham Hotspur “boring to watch” and claims he would rather watch their north London rivals.

The former Premier League striker was speaking on TalkSport following Spurs’ 0-0 draw away at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Following defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League, Antonio Conte’s side looked to get back on the winning trail, but were once again unconvincing, forcing just one save from Kevin Trapp, according to SofaScore.

Having lost 2-0 at Sporting in their prior European game with an expected goals total of 0.86 it was a slight improvement for the club despite the dropped points, while they at least play two of their final three group games at home.

As posted on TalkSport’s Twitter account after their goalless draw, Agbonlahor said: “There were two English teams on last night, no way I’m watching Spurs – I watch Liverpool.

“If Chelsea were playing, I’m watching Chelsea; if Manchester City are playing, I’m watching them over Spurs.

“Arsenal as well, you’d rather watch Arsenal because it’s exciting football, they’re getting the ball down and passing it, they’re switching it from side to side.

“When you watch Spurs, it’s like, ‘alright we’re going to camp in, we’re going to try and nick a counter-attack, we’re playing for a draw, try and nick a goal if we can to win 1-0′.

“It’s boring football and similar to the football that Mourinho was playing there – and Spurs fans won’t have that. I don’t think they are going to win a trophy playing like this.”

TIF Thoughts on Agbonlahor’s comments…

Should Spurs sign Maddison in January?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Indeed, the recent games must have caused some concern around N17.

No Spurs player has scored a goal from open play in any of their last four games away from home.

While the Lilywhites are the third-highest-scoring team in the Premier League, 13 of their 19 goals have come against sides currently in the bottom five.

They have only created 11 big chances, placing them eighth in the division and raising the question of whether a James Maddison or a similar player should have been brought in last summer to avoid this type of issue.
