Medical expert Ben Dinnery has tipped Allan Saint-Maximin to be part of the Newcastle squad in the Premier League this weekend.

Saint-Maximin has missed each of the club’s last four Premier League games, but looks set for a return to the side to face Brentford.

He hobbled off in the dying embers against Wolves back in August, with it later being confirmed that he had sustained an injury to his hamstring just minutes after striking a stunning equaliser.

During his press conference ahead of Saturday’s fixture, Eddie Howe said Saint-Maximin is “doing ok” and there was a chance he would be involved, as relayed by The Chronicle.

Speaking on his Premier FPL Injuries YouTube channel, on Friday, Dinnery said: “Allan Saint-Maximin – full week on the training ground so Eddie Howe was being coy.

“Look, he’s available, he’s going to be in the squad. Unless there is any problems today or overnight, I guarantee that Saint-Maximin will be part of that matchday group.”

However, Dinnery did go on to claim that the Frenchman is “not fit enough to start yet”.

TIF Thoughts on Dinnery’s comments…

Is Saint-Maximin Newcastle's best player?

The availability of Saint-Maximin will undoubtedly be welcomed by Howe.

The dazzling winger, dubbed “unplayable” by Rob Lee, was at his scintillating best prior to his injury.

The 25-year-old stole the show against Manchester City, providing two assists and winning the free-kick that Kieran Trippier successfully dispatched.

He has been the Tynesiders’ best performer according to WhoScored, with a team-high 7.67 average match rating, and his return to action could help the team win back-to-back games for the first time this season.
