Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has expressed his excitement over plans to put on a new display at St James Park this afternoon.

Indeed, in a recent tweet, Wor Flags – which operates fan-funded flag displays for the Magpies – explained that in the middle tier of the Gallowgate End, they will have a huge design to show their support for the club ahead of their Premier League match this weekend.

The Chronicle recently spoke to one of the group’s members about this new design that will go up during Newcastle’s clash against Brentford and they stated that it is so complex, they require the banner to remain static or it will ruin the display.

In reaction to it all, Ghodoussi took to Twitter to say: “Now I’m really excited.”

TIF thoughts on Newcastle United and the support…

The Magpies have made a pretty solid start to the new Premier League season as they sit in seventh having lost just one game this term, picking up 11 points along the way.

Of course, this is hugely thanks to their new owners, who splashed considerable cash in the summer – funding moves for players such as Sven Botman, Nick Pope and Alexander Isak.

This investment has resulted in a shift in mood at the club which comes in stark contrast to life under the previous owner. Indeed, The Chronicle explained that Wor Flags actually refused to host any displays in protest of Mike Ashley’s time in charge of the club.

So it’s no surprise that Ghodoussi is glad to see that his club’s fans are so happy with how things are going that they want to put on elaborate displays of support with these new coordinated efforts at the stadium.
