Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has praised defender Kieran Trippier for his fine display in the club’s most recent win.
The Magpies have managed to place themselves in the top four after their first 13 Premier League games this season and the mood around the Toon was lifted even further with a thumping 4-0 victory on Saturday.
Indeed, Newcastle blew away Aston Villa in front of their own fans at St. James’ Park with two goals from Callum Wilson and efforts from Joelinton and Miguel Almiron doing the business.
Evidently pleased with the performance of his captain, Ghodoussi took to Instagram to praise Trippier after the game after the Englishman had shared a message of delight.
The right-back wrote: “E-I-E-I-E-I-O. Up the Premier League we go.
“Brilliant again today by everyone from back to front.”
While his chairman replied: “You’re a Rock.”

In the player ratings for Chronicle Live, journalist Lee Ryder also took time to hand Trippier plenty of praise too. Indeed, he gave the defender an 8/10 for his efforts and claimed he ‘dominated play down the right’.

All in all, a pretty good day at the office for the right-back as he saw his team score plenty, pick up the three points, and keep a clean sheet as their push for European football takes another step in the right direction.
