Craig Hope has claimed on his Instagram that he doesn’t expect Bruno Guimaraes to leave Newcastle United at the end of the season amidst stunning performance.
Guimaraes put in a magnificent performance on Saturday for Newcastle as his two goals were crucial to them picking up all three points and a very comfortable 5-1 win as he got the opening goal and then restored their two-goal lead in the second half.
Over the summer Guimaraes was said to be a player of interest to Real Madrid and given their history, pedigree and ability to attract the world’s best players some may have thought his head could be turned, although that doesn’t appear to be the case claiming he now feels at home and that his first child will be a Geordie.
Hope revealed that Guimaraes future was discussed in the press box post-Brentford, and The Daily Mial journalist doesn’t believe Guimares will be departing Tyneside anytime soon.
(1:25) “Afterwards in the press box there was a couple of debates, one of them was about how long will he be at Newcastle. One of my colleagues said this could perhaps be his only full season here.
“I disagreed because if this was the Newcastle of Mike Ashley then okay, fair enough if you get a player of that talent they don’t hang around here they wouldn’t have hung around at Newcastle for long and Bruno would have been off.

“This is a different football club now, this is potentially, the richest football club in the world, and this is potentially one of the most exciting football clubs in the world going forward over the next three, four or five years.
“So in that regard, if a Real Madrid or Barcelona did come knocking for Bruno and by the way, he really is that level, I think it wouldn’t be a clear signal he definitely goes I really believe that I think something is happening here.”
TIF Thoughts on Guimaraes’ future…
Watching Guimaraes flourish on Tyneside will likely be amazing for fans to see, however, that will naturally attract interest from clubs that can perhaps offer European football immediately and a better face of winning silverware, so the Magpies must keep going upwards.
Guimares and other players such as Sven Botman and Allan Saint-Maximin will be desperate to play European football having not done so now for a prolonged period of time, and they will be buoyed by the Magpies’ recent form.
It would be a major blow and something that could alter their way of playing if Guimares was to leave in the near future, which is why Eddie Howe will know it’s important the Magpies prove to players, such as Guimaraes, they can be challenging or European spots and silverware this season.
