Leicester City: Simon Jordan thinks Brendan Rodgers’ time is up

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers’ time at the club could be coming to an end.

That is according to talkSPORT pundit/presenter Simon Jordan, who was giving his opinion on the Northern Irishman’s future at the King Power Stadium.

Rodgers’ Leicester side have struggled at the beginning of this Premier League campaign, and find themselves second from bottom of the league table, having won just one game all season.

A 0-0 home draw with Crystal Palace has increased the pressure on the former Celtic manager, with the side now looking like there’s a good chance of a fully-fledged relegation battle occurring at the King Power Stadium for the first time since the 2014/15 season.

And Jordan thinks that a backlash from the supporters may be building following Leicester’s poor start to the Premier League season.

“I think Brendan, as much as I like him personally and I think he’s a very decent coach, I think his time is up at Leicester.

“I don’t think we’re seeing a huge backlash from the fan base, but I think it’s building.”

TIF Thoughts on Jordan’s comments

We agree with Jordan and think that unless Rodgers gets at least four points from their next two fixtures against Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, his time could be up in the East Midlands.

Despite having won the club’s first ever FA Cup and achieving two back-to-back fifth-place finishes in the Premier League, there is no room for sentiment in the top-flight, and the club may feel they need a change to freshen things up.

Therefore, we think that Jordan is correct and think that Rodgers is already treading dangerous ground, with the club likely to be desperate to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

With all due respect to you, Jordan’s comment is an opinion and not a ‘hint’. A hint suggests that he is privy to some information. He isn’t!
