YouTuber Conor McGilligan has claimed that Leeds United will get a massive boost as James Maddison will now be unavailable to face them in midweek.

This weekend, the Whites suffered defeat in the Premier League as their winless run stretched to six games.

Next up for Leeds are Leicester City. The Foxes had to settle for a point in their most recent outing, but Maddison managed to pick up a yellow card in that game against Crystal Palace.

Indeed, in a desperate attempt to win a penalty, the Englishman dived in the box and was rightfully punished by the referee. This was his fifth of the season and will consequently miss his side’s next game.

Seeing as this is against Leeds, McGilligan seemed rather happy about the news. He wrote on Twitter: “James Maddison will miss the Leeds game on Thursday.

“MASSIVE boost for us.”

TIF Thoughts on James Maddison and Leeds…

It hasn’t been the best start to the season for Leicester – they sit in the relegation zone on five points after 10 games – but Maddison has been one rare shining light.

Indeed, the midfielder has managed to contribute to seven goals in nine Premier League appearances – scoring five and providing two assists (via Transfermarkt).

With that in mind, it’s easy to see why McGilligan is so delighted that the Foxes’ key man won’t be able to cause any damage against Leeds. No doubt, Jesse Marsch will also be delighted with this outcome as his team look to bounce back from their loss to Arsenal.
