YouTuber Conor McGilligan has claimed that Leeds United could be set for relegation if the board are not willing to sack Jesse Marsch.

It’s no secret that the Whites are already in a rather troubling situation. Indeed, despite owner Andrea Radrizzani claiming it would be ‘impossible’ to see his side caught up in a relegation battle this season, his club are currently in the bottom three.

After losing 3-2 at home against Fulham at the weekend, Leeds have dropped to 18th in the Premier League, sitting on just nine points – the same tally as the two teams below them.

Despite this poor form, it has been reported by The Mirror that the board will back Marsch. With that being the case, McGilligan has warned that life in the Championship could be coming soon.

While speaking about the troubling matter on the One Leeds Fan Channel, he said: “Really sad to admit this, but that [relegation] is where this is going, everyone.

“Now, you saw Villa very recently be extremely reactive when it came to sacking Steven Gerrard. The crowd had turned on him, the away crowd – I think they’d just got beaten by Fulham, incidentally, 3-0 – they’d turned on him as well at Villa Park.

“The exact same thing’s happening with Leeds United. But our board aren’t being reactive. I wonder why.”

TIF Thoughts on Jesse Marsch and Leeds United…

Gerrard was indeed recently sacked by Aston Villa after a dismal run of six defeats in 11 Premier League games. Following that decision, his former side bounced back immediately with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Brentford at the weekend.

Seeing as Leeds are winless in their last eight games now, the board may well look at the Villa situation and consider following suit in hope of an instant recovery from their own side.

However, with Marsch saying he and the board are ‘unified’ after the Fulham loss, it does look as though he will be given a little while longer to turn things around.

But if the slide continues and the American stays in charge, the club may well run out of time to pull themselves out of a relegation fight.

Will Jesse Marsch still be at Leeds by this time next week?
