Injury expert Ben Dinnery has shared the news that a decision on Jonny Evans’ availability for Leicester City this weekend remains unknown.

The Foxes’ skipper is a doubt having come down with a calf issue this week following the club’s 2-1 defeat o Bournemouth last weekend.

Brendan Rodgers’ side will host Crystal Palace in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday afternoon but the manager may be without his club captain.

Speaking on the Premier FPL Injuries YouTube channel Dinnery said:

(1:58)”Trouble at the back potentially. Jonny Evans, he has a tight calf problem.

“We know historically he does suffer with a lot of these.

“A decision on his availability won’t be made until the last moment.”

TIF Thoughts on Evans and Leicester…

Has Jonny Evans been Leicester City's best defender this season?

YES, EVANS HAS BEEN LEICESTER'S BEST DEFENDER

NO, OTHER DEFENDERS HAVE BEEN BETTER

Having played 147 times for the east Midlands club, not being able to call upon one of your most-experienced players isn’t ideal given the team’s current position.

Leicester find themselves rock bottom in the Premier League table after nine games and in need of points quickly.

Evans has played every minute of the side’s campaign so far this term and among players to start five games or more he ranks seventh for average match rating with 6.49 (WhoScored).

He also ranks first for interceptions and clearances per 90 minutes among current players at the King Power while Wout Faes is the only man who has averaged more blocks per game than the Northern Irishman.

Rodgers will certainly be sweating on Evans’ availability but a decision on his fitness looks set to go down to the wire.

Either way with games mounting up, including three in the next eight days, it is a concern for the 34-year-old going forward.
