Aleksandar Mitrovic should be available for Fulham’s Premier League clash this weekend.

That is according to journalist Dean Jones, who was speaking on the Chasing Green Arrows YouTube channel about potential Premier League team news for this weekend.

Mitrovic sustained a foot injury when on international duty with Serbia in a Nations League fixture with Sweden last month, but played the full match against Norway a few days later.

The 75-time Serbia international then had to be subbed off in the Cottagers’ first game following the break against Newcastle United after just 37 minutes, before missing last weekend’s London derby at West Ham United.

But Jones believes that Mitrovic will be back for the weekend’s big clash at home to Bournemouth after having last weekend off.

He said: “I’ll be amazed if the injury is so bad that he can’t be better by the following weekend – especially for the Bournemouth game.

“If there was any doubt, like I said the other day, then Fulham would have been happy for him not to play West Ham so that he was okay for the two games that will follow after that, because they’re two such winnable games.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments about Aleksandar Mitrovic…

We think that Fulham fans will be absolutely delighted if Mitrovic was to return to first-team action at Craven Cottage this weekend, with the 28-year-old’s presence greatly improving their chances of success.

The former Newcastle man has scored six goals in eight Premier League appearances, suggesting that he is capable of winning games on his own for Marco Silva’s side.

We agree with Jones and believe that Mitrovic may well have been rested ahead of a very winnable clash at home with the Cherries this weekend, especially if he was at risk of further damage after being taken off early against his former club a fortnight ago.
