Tony Scott believes that Frank Lampard and Everton will be keen on bringing in more attacking players in upcoming transfer windows.

Everton managed to back Lampard in the summer transfer window despite their well-documented financial problems, and this was mainly down to the sale of star attacker Richarlison, who left the club for a hefty £60m.

However, the void left by Richarlison appears to have been ignored over the summer with only Neal Maupay and Dwight McNeil arriving as attacking reinforcements, while the Toffees have only scored 11 goals in the league this season.

Despite this, Scott isn’t too concerned, as while speaking on the All Together Now podcast, he backed Everton and Lampard to address that issue in the coming transfer windows.

He said: “The squad is really good at the moment. Obviously, we know what we’re missing. We’re missing a bit of firepower up front in case Dominic Calvert-Lewin gets injured and that creativity in a number 10 role, which I’m sure Frank Lampard will improve on in windows to come.

“But the squad’s decent now, you’ve got options there to come off the bench and where we are is probably where we deserve to be at the moment.”

TIF Thoughts on Everton in the final third…

Scott highlighted the Toffees’ woes this season in the final third, which was mainly down to the absence of their star striker Calvert-Lewin, who didn’t start a game until last Wednesday when he featured against Newcastle United.

He’s very quickly shown the Everton faithful what they’ve been missing, having netted on his first start of the season at Goodison Park at the weekend which sent the Toffees on their way to three points.

However, the stats are alarming in terms of creating chances for someone such as Calvert-Lewin, as Everton don’t have anyone inside the league’s top 20 for big chances created. Alex Iwobi is 22nd with four across the entire campaign, so Lampard won’t likely have any trouble spotting where he needs to upgrade his squad in the transfer window.
