Pundit Robbie Earle has heaped praise on Crystal Palace’s Luka Milivojevic for his dominant second-half performance on Sunday afternoon.

Crystal Palace managed to pick up only their second league win of the season on Sunday as they came from behind at Selhurst Park to pick up all three points and Milivojevic was a star in the game for Earle, despite him only coming on after 64 minutes.

The Serbian international has been fazed out gradually by Patrick Vieira since he arrived last summer having seen his starts decrease ever since the French boss arrived, but he appears to still be able to do a job for the Eagles, according to Earle.

Earle, who was speaking on The 2 Robbie’s podcast, admitted that he was impressed by Milivojevic despite only being handed a small came appearance against Leeds United and made just one tackle.

(1:00:40) “It was a positive setup and lineup from Patrick Vieira, he changed the shape a little bit Rob at half time which was quite key.

Will Palace finish inside the top 10?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

“He went a bit more 4-4-2 so he put Olise on one side, Zaha on the other, Eze and Doucouré, he brought Milivojevic on actually who actually dominated the game in the middle of the field, and they looked better and had a bit more threat that way.”

TIF Thoughts on Milivojevic…

The Serbian, who was bought for £13.5 million, is now into his seventh season with Palace and has gone on to have a solid career at Selhurst Park racking up 183 appearances across all competitions and only cost the club £14 million back in January 2017 when Sam Allardyce was in charge.

However, following the arrival of Cheick Doucouré and Eze now able to stay fit and thrive under Patrick Vieira, Milivojevic appears to have now had his nose pushed out starting just once in the Carabao Cup all season.

Think you're the biggest Crystal Palace fan? Then who is the club's record signing?

Given his experience at Premier League level and how long he’s been in and around the club, Vieira will likely still see him as a valuable squad player and someone that can help the younger players such as Doucoure, Eze and Malcolm Ebiowei.
