The host of Saturday Social on Sky Sports Joe Thomlinson has backed Kortney Hause to find a permanent move away from Aston Villa.

Now 27, Hause is unlikely to make his way in the side at Villa Park having been shipped out on loan in the summer.

The former England U21 international is currently in the Championship with Watford but has struggled for fitness making just two starts.

He hasn’t played since the middle of September and the centre-back has seen very few minutes in recent seasons making just seven Premier League appearances in each of the last two previous campaigns.

As a result, Thomlinson feels that the 6 ft 2 titan is expendable and has tipped him to leave the Villans.

Speaking on the Football Daily YouTube channel he said:

“Under contract until 2025 and has had very limited game time.

“I think for the good of his career it’s time now to sell him and let him move on because he is 27 years old.”

Indeed Hause’s £80k-per-week contract has three years left to run (Fbref via Capology) but it was reported in the summer that he was keen for a ‘fresh start’.

A permanent move to the Hornets seemingly fell through back in January but considering the Vicarage Road outfit worked to get him on a temporary basis in the next window it would suggest that Villa would at least have a potential buyer when it comes to the end of the season.

The Redbridge-born defender was signed from local rivals Wolves for £3m in 2019, following a successful loan spell at Bodymoor Heath.

However, after 18 appearances as the club made their return to the top flight his influence has waned and it is likely that he seeks pastures new come next summer.
