Leeds United’s hierarchy need to conclude a deal to see Jack Harrison commit his future at Elland Road following the comments of Andrea Radrizzani over the summer.

This is the warning suggested by Conor McGilligan who has been speaking about the Englishman’s future on the One Leeds Fan Channel.

Harrison was the subject of a lot of summer interest from Newcastle United with Eddie Howe’s side believed to be big fans of the Leeds star but Leeds are said to be looking to tie him down to a new deal.

The 25-year-old now has under two years remaining on his deal in Yorkshire but there have been suggestions by pundits that he will not put pen to paper on a new deal with the Toon lurking.

Radrizzani was vocal over the summer stating he would not allow Harrison to leave but McGilligan has warned him those comments would count for nothing if he doesn’t sign a new deal:

“But it is a massive period for Leeds United getting this Jack Harrison deal done especially when Andrea Radrizzani has come out and said we will reject every single bid, Jack Harrison won’t be going anywhere. You know, he’s said stuff before Radrizzani. Which, you know, is maybe a little bit close to the wire ”

TIF Thoughts on McGilligan’s comments…

There is certainly an argument to be had about the decision not to allow Harrison to leave over the summer if he does not put pen to paper.

Do you expect Harrison to sign a new deal?

Yes

No

No

Losing Raphinha, Kalvin Phillips and Harrison in one window would have been a big loss, however, they may be forced to sell him in January or the summer if he refuses to sign a new deal.

Harrison has made a bright start to the new campaign with four-goal involvements in six league appearances – albeit blanking in his last three games (via Transfermarkt).

But given the Whites have reinvested significantly over the summer, would they have been better just selling Harrison?
