Leeds United right-back Cody Drameh could potentially look to push for a move away from Elland Road in the January transfer window.

That is the opinion of Leeds United fan and presenter Joe Wainman, who has been speaking on his latest YouTube video about Jesse Marsch’s headache at right-back.

The Whites added to their options over the summer with Rasmus Kristensen, who has made five appearances already in the Premier League under Marsch.

However, the American’s options have now been boosted by the return of Luke Ayling from injury, as he made a brief cameo in the heavy defeat away to Brentford.

As a result of Marsch now having two senior options in Drameh’s position, Wainman has suggested a January exit could well be on the mind of the 20-year-old.

He said: “Now, for me, Cody Drameh, I still have massive question marks over. I said that when I’d seen his debut against [Gabriel] Martinelli at Arsenal.

“Yes, he did well at Cardiff, but when I’ve seen him both in pre-season and in the first team, there have been question marks, for me – that’s just my own personal opinion.

“And I’m not sure Cody will want to stick around, you know. I think he’ll push for another loan in January or maybe even move. I believe his contract’s coming to an end, I think he might look to move on.”

“I really like Luke Ayling. Look I’d argue he’s better at centre-back than [Diego] Llorente, for example, I’d [prefer] to see him play there than Diego in the next game, but I asked you that question who gets the nod?”

TIF Thoughts on Wainman’s comments…

Drameh, who was hailed as ‘excellent’ last season, has been no stranger to making his feelings known at Leeds about playing regular football, after he demanded a move to Cardiff City earlier this year under Marcelo Bielsa’s reign.

There have been few signs he could break into Marsch’s XI this season with just one appearance to his name in the Premier League.

However, Wainman did suggest he prefers Ayling as a centre-back, so it will be interesting to see if Drameh remains as Marsch’s main backup at right-back upon the 31-year-old’s full return.
