Tottenham Hotspur’s new signing Clement Lenglet left Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge seriously impressed on Saturday afternoon with his display against Fulham.

It was a comfortable afternoon in N17 for Antonio Conte’s men who cruised to victory which has taken their tally up to 14 points from a possible 18 as their unbeaten run continues.

And the Italian manager made a number of changes for the game against the Cottagers after an underwhelming showing against West Ham United on Wednesday night.

One of those changes was the introduction of Lenglet who has just made his return from injury which has seen him sit on the sidelines for almost all of the new season.

Coming in for first-team regular Ben Davies, Lenglet had big boots to fill after the Welshman cemented his spot in Conte’s XI last season, and it was apparent he impressed Bridge:

“Spurs in front at HT & prob their best half of the season. Should be more than 1-0. Everyone doing their job. Lenglet’s passing has impressed me,” Bridge tweeted.

TIF Thoughts on Bridge’s comments…

We were seriously impressed with the Frenchman – who has previously been slammed “abysmal” by writer Muhammad Butt – on what was his starting debut for the Lilywhites where he was able to demonstrate his wealth of experience.

Who should start vs Marseille on Wednesday?

It was a quiet afternoon for the Frenchman who recorded just one tackle, however, he did end the game with a 90% pass completion rate (via SofaScore).

This is certainly the benefit of Conte having such depth at his disposal with the Spurs defending leaving a lot to be desired on Wednesday night in the build-up to the Hammers’ equaliser.

With the first of their Champions League games coming up on Wednesday night, it will be interesting to see who Conte opts for at left-sided centre-back.
