Alasdair Gold has claimed on his YouTube channel that Bryan Gil wanted to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the last transfer window.
It certainly was a big summer for Tottenham and Daniel Levy as many people from the outside were eagerly looking to see how the chairman would back Antonio Conte, who managed to return Champions League football to Spurs.
Conte was indeed backed with eight new arrivals that have helped bolster the squad, improve the first team and also prepare the club for the future, but some players won’t be happy with how the club acted during the transfer window, such as Gil.
This is because, as Gold claims, the Spanish winger wished to leave during the transfer window, though his request was subsequently denied by the Spurs hierarchy.
Gold said: “I think more still could have been done, of course. When you’ve got players like Bryan Gil who clearly wanted to go – I saw a couple of days after his Instagram story, it’s no secret, he wanted to go and play regular football, and I’m sure Japhet Tanganga was exactly the same as well.”
Has Bryan Gil been a flop at Spurs?

TIF Thoughts on Gil’s Spurs future…
It’s safe to say that Gil’s time at Spurs has not exactly been a big success as he’s yet to start a league game since he arrived last summer from Sevilla for £22.5m and was even loaned out to Valencia halfway through last campaign.
Ultimately, he has a lot to prove given he’s not an Antonio Conte signing, so the Italian will have no loyalties or any eagerness to play the winger – something that’s been demonstrated this season, with Gil not being afforded a single minute of action.
After heading out on loan last January, Gil admitted that the reason for his shortcomings during the first half of last season were because he wasn’t physically ready for the Premier League, although he appears to have done little to convince Conte that’s now no longer the case.
