Aston Villa: Ben Dinnery expects Matty Cash to make injury return in 2-3 weeks

|

Injury expert Ben Dinnery has predicted that Matty Cash could be back in contention for Aston Villa in the next 2-3 weeks.

The Polish right-back recently confirmed that he would not be able to take part during the upcoming international break due to his current fitness struggles, taking to Instagram to explain his situation.

Indeed, while he said his ‘rehabilitation is going well’, it is clear that the player will be out for some time, and Dinnery has made a ‘realistic’ prediction on when exactly Villa fans can expect to see their man again.

When talking about it on the Premier FPL Injuries show, he claimed that Cash would possibly be back for Aston Villa when the Premier League resumes after the international period.

Dinnery said: “The player actually revealed that he’s recovering, progressing nicely from that hamstring issue that forced him off against Manchester City.

“Again, we don’t have any kind of timeline, we’re hoping it’s going to be around about that maybe two to possibly three weeks – so maybe in and around that first game after the international break or soon after, is realistic [for Cash to return].”

TIF Thoughts on Matty Cash and Aston Villa…

The defender is obviously a key part of Steven Gerrard’s team, as proved by the fact that he had started every Premier League game up to this point in the season.

With that in mind, it will be a blow for the club to lose him over the coming weeks and Calum Chambers, Ashley Young or even Frederic Guilbert will likely have to step into the team and take his place.

Luckily, however, that international break will afford Cash some time to recover while Aston Villa aren’t involved in match action, and with Dinnery expecting the player to return shortly after domestic football returns, it sounds as though this injury won’t set him back too much.
