ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United duo Aaron Cresswell and Maxwel Cornet have trained this week and could play on Thursday.
Having seen their most recent Premier League fixture postponed over the weekend due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the Hammers’ next match will be another European tie.
Indeed, West Ham will take on Silkeborg IF away from home in the Europa Conference League having beaten FCSB 3-1 in their opening group game of the competition.
In some good news for the side, it seems as though David Moyes could have two men fit and ready to feature in that game, too – though that can’t be confirmed just yet.
In an update shared on The West Ham Way Patreon page, insider Ex said: “We can confirm that Aaron Cresswell and Maxwel Cornet have featured in training today.
“There will be a decision made on their fitness before the game on Thursday.”
TIF thoughts on Aaron Cresswell, Maxwell Cornet and West Ham…
Ahead of the FCSB clash, Moyes confirmed that Cresswell had not been training having missed the game against Chelsea the weekend prior, so it’s good that the left-back is at least now close to a return.
Cornet, however, did start against the Romanian outfit but had to come off injured, so question marks have lingered over his availability, with Football.london calling the cause of the issue a ‘nasty collision’.
So while the duo are not certain to play against Silkeborg, they should at least bit in with a shot of featuring having trained this week – which is a timely boost for the club ahead of this match.
