Tottenham Hotspur may look towards the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers wide man Adama Traoré in January.

That is according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook who was speaking to GiveMeSport about Spurs’ potential transfer plans for the winter transfer window.

The Daily Express had reported that Antonio Conte’s side were interested in securing the services of Traoré ahead of last week’s transfer deadline, but a move for the wide man never materialised for the winger Fabio Paratici likes a lot.

The 26-year-old is seemingly heading for an inevitable exit from Molineux within the next 12 months, with the winger having less than a year remaining on his current contract with the West Midlands side, having refused a new deal on multiple occasions.

And Crook believes that Spurs could make a move for Traoré in the January transfer window, with the winger likely to be available at a cut-price deal due to the nature of his contract.

He said: “They might see that as a more attractive option in January, when he’ll only have six months left on his contract.

“He will be a bit cheaper, so I wouldn’t rule it out.

“But I haven’t heard anything on that.”

TIF Thoughts on Crook’s comments

We believe that a move for Traoré in January will be an attractive option for a number of clubs in January, with Wolves likely to accept a lower bid in order to avoid losing the eight-time Spain international on a free in the summer.

The former Middlesbrough man hasn’t had a prolific goal or assist record during his time at Molineux, scoring 12 goals and providing 18 assists according to Transfermarkt.

However, Traoré does possess incredible speed, something which is incredibly useful for any Premier League club, and if the wide-man was to be available at £10m or less this winter, he may be a gamble worth taking for Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy.

We’d be better off now getting him on a free next summer. Wolves like to keep playing silly buggers with his price anyway. This way we wont have to bother with any interference from them!
