Tottenham Hotspur now have a young midfielder who is making a name for himself at the club in Han Willhoft-King.
This is according to The Guardian’s latest list of young prospects at Premier League clubs, with journalist David Hytner hailing the youngster.
Spurs have a number of young players who are catching the eye having come from the academy with Dane Scarlett, perhaps, currently the biggest name.
However, looking a little deeper into the club’s breadth of talent, Willhoft-King is one who is now making a name for himself having featured frequently for the Spurs U18 side.
With a number of appearances also in the FA Youth Cup for the Lilywhites, Hytner has been left seriously impressed by the 16-year-old so far:
“Tottenham always pick their strongest team in the FA Youth Cup and last season, that meant starting Willhoft-King in every tie – even though he was still a schoolboy. The journey lasted three games and it was an excellent experience for the standout talent of his year group at Spurs but it is where Willhoft-King intends to go next that is exciting,” he wrote for The Guardian.
“At the club since the age of six, the England under-16 international is smooth on the ball and was pretty much a regular for the Spurs Under-18s from last October, although he would miss the end of the season because of injury. His range of passing is impressive.”

It is always exciting to hear of encouraging players in the youth sides who may hold a shot at potentially playing in the first team eventually.

Spurs currently have midfielder Oliver Skipp who has made the journey from the academy to the first team and it seems Willhoft-King is certainly showing signs of promise.
Despite having just turned 16 in January, Willhoft-King has already made nine appearances for the U18s side, with the potential of more appearances curtailed through injury.
With Alfie Devine already showing age is no hindrance in making a breakthrough to the first team, it seems as if Willhoft-King could be another gem to keep an eye on for the future.
