Everton’s lack of a Premier League victory so far this season is a concern.
That is according to The Athletic’s Greg O’Keeffe, who was speaking on the All Together Now podcast about the latest news from Goodison Park.
Frank Lampard’s side currently sit in 16th place in the Premier League after six games having earned four points from four draws and two defeats.
The Toffees are coming off the back of a respectable goalless draw with Merseyside rivals Liverpool, but after last season’s close shave as they avoided relegation to the Championship, fans of the club will be desperate for the side to get their first win of the season under their belt.
And O’Keeffe believes that whilst there have been positive performances, it is still a worry that the side haven’t picked up a first league victory of the season yet.
He said: “As much as there’s a lot of mitigation and understanding and positives from the performances, we’ve had a couple of games against sides like Forest and Brentford where – look, they’re both good sides, Brentford, particularly – but, you know, [we’ve] really got to start picking up points and maybe they were the games that you could have won.
“But we’ve got to be realistic where we’re coming from, too.
“So yeah, it’s a concern.”
TIF Thoughts on O’Keeffe’s comments…
We believe that O’Keeffe’s concerns are justified, despite the side putting in some solid performances so far this campaign.
Everton’s winless run in the Premier League now stretches to seven games without victory, with the Toffees’ thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Crystal Palace being the last time Lampard’s side earned themselves three points.
Therefore, we believe that Everton are crying out for a win in any way shape or form and will be hoping to get that first win on the board soon, or they may find themselves in a similar battle to that of last season.
