Celtic may have to look at offering manager Ange Postecoglou a new contract in the near future, amid rumours of Premier League admiration for the Australian.
That is according to journalist Pete O’Rourke, who was speaking to This is Futbol about the latest news from Celtic Park during the international break.
Postecoglou had been linked with the manager’s vacancy at Brighton and Hove Albion, after Graham Potter left the AMEX Stadium to take the Chelsea job earlier this month.
However, much to the delight of the Celtic faithful, the Seagulls went on to appoint Italian manager Roberto De Zerbi, meaning that the Hoops will be holding onto their boss for the time being.
But O’Rourke believes that the Glasgow giants will need to look at tying Postecoglou down to a new contract, with the 57-year-old’s success likely to keep him on the radar of some Premier League clubs.
“Yeah, it’s something that they might have to look at down the line because obviously Postecoglou’s success has seen him linked with a potential move to the Premier League.
“He was linked with a Brighton job, he’s been mentioned in some quarters with the Leicester City job if Brendan Rodgers leaves the club as well.”

We believe that it would be for the best if Celtic and Postecoglou were to come to an agreement on a deal for the Premiership champions, with the former Australian national team manager bound to be attracting Premier League interest following his success in Scotland.
The replacement to Neil Lennon is currently on a 12-month rolling contract, which hardly secures his future at Celtic Park, meaning that the Glasgow giants will leave themselves open to a sudden departure if a job comes up that takes the Australian’s fancy.
Therefore, we believe that the Celtic hierarchy should be putting maximum effort into securing Postecoglou’s long-term future at Parkhead, so they can at least secure a compensation fee, if the former Yokohama F. Marinos decided to move on.
