Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has built an “unbelievable bond” with the Parkhead fanbase, since his appointment in June 2021.

That is according to journalist Dean Jones, who was speaking to This is Futbol about the latest news from Celtic Park.

Postecoglou had a tremendously successful season at Celtic Park last season, winning the double of the Scottish Premiership, after wrestling the title back from Rangers, and the Scottish League Cup.

The Australian’s success at Celtic has resulted in rumoured Premier League interest from south of the border during the current campaign, with Brighton and Hove Albion being rumoured to admire the title-winning manager.

However, Jones believes that Postecoglou will have to think very carefully about potentially leaving the Scottish champions, due to the bond he has with the club’s supporters.

“He’s built an unbelievable bond with the fans.

“A bond that honestly, you’re going to get very few times throughout the entirety of a career.

“Celtic have been in a really good place under him and picking his next club, to be honest, it needs to be a fail proof decision from here because if you get it wrong, you’re going to regret it.”

Interesting first question, how many Celtic fans were inside Ibrox?

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments

We believe that Jones has a valid point and that any move Postecoglou makes away from Celtic Park has the potential to damage his reputation, if he is unsuccessful.

For the time being, he has a Champions League campaign to focus on with the Glasgow giants which may encourage the Australian manager to, at the very least, see out the current season in Glasgow.

Therefore, we think that a Premier League move is unlikely during the course of this campaign.
