Chris Sutton has questioned why Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou would leave the club amid recent exit talk.

There has been a lot of talk about Postecoglou and his future at Celtic love the last few weeks with some jobs south of the border becoming available, or likely soon to become vacant due to different circumstances.

Postecoglou had been linked with the Brighton job before they’d decided to go for Roberto De Zerbi and now reports are suggesting that Leicester City could be lining up the Australian boss should they part ways with Brendan Rodgers who is clearly struggling with the Foxes.

Sutton, however, has been left far from impressed by this latest rumour and took to Twitter to slam it as he said:

‘Champions League team or maybe Championship team next season… why would Ange Postecoglou want to downsize right now?’

Are you worried about Postecoglou's future?

TIF Thoughts on Postecoglou’s future…

While Sutton’s comment about playing in the Championship next season is likely very tongue in cheek, there appears to be next to no chance that Leicester will be in the Champions League next season, something that appears almost inevitable for the Bhoys.

Therefore, it does raise a valid question as to why he would leave a team that has lost just twice across all competitions this season, one was against Real Madrid as well, for a Foxes side that appears to be in disarray at the moment.

This English Premier League winner almost moved to Celtic.

Celtic fans will always be wary of losing Postecoglou and what the future holds for him after they did indeed lose the man he could be replacing, Brendan Rodgers, to Leicester mid-way through a campaign not too long ago.
