Celtic will now find themselves in an enviable position financially following their latest report revealed by Ian Bankier last week.

This has been suggested by former Scotland international Alan Hutton, who has been speaking to Football Insider following the latest development to come out of Parkhead.

The Bhoys have had a successful year on the pitch, cruising to the Scottish Premiership title in Ange Postecoglou’s first year in charge.

And it seems that success has been translated off the field, with the Hoops boasting a yearly revenue of £88.2m – which is a £27.4m increase on the previous report.

Hutton has highlighted that this uptick in revenue will only continue to rise with the Bhoys now playing in this season’s Champions League.

He said: “It is brilliant news for Celtic.

“Whether it be players’ transfers or new contracts, they will have a bigger budget next season because of the Champions League. There will be a cash injection from that.

“Celtic are obviously in a really good place at this moment in time. The recruitment has been really good as well. The money that they have spent, they are getting value for. Ange Postecoglou is getting the best out of the players that are coming in.

“The likes of Jota will be sold on for millions in the future. When you factor in the Champions League money as well… everything is looking rosy. They are playing good football under the manager as well.”

TIF Thoughts on Alan Hutton’s comments on Celtic…

Things are certainly looking good for the Bhoys at the moment, with a brilliant start in the league only showing one blemish following their recent defeat against St Mirren.

However, the financial report will certainly provide a lot of promise among the fanbase, with the club already showing some impressive moves over the summer with the permanent additions of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota.

Albeit just two games in, the Bhoys currently sit third in their Champions League group, with back-to-back games against RB Leipzig coming up offering them an opportunity to make their mark.

It will certainly be a big challenge to progress from Group F, but if they manage to do so or even fall into the Europa League, it could yet boost the numbers in next year’s financial report further.
