Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Wolves could still have something up their sleeve on deadline day as they look for a midfielder to add depth.

After a slow start to the summer transfer window, the Midlands club have done some great business in the window, with the likes of Matheus Nunes, Goncalo Guedes and Sasa Kalajdzic joining in the last few weeks.

However, their poor start to the season sees them currently sitting 18th in the Premier League table with no wins under their belt and just two goals scored. As a result, it appears they could be in for one more signing before the end of the window.

Jones revealed during a recent interview with GiveMeSport that they are ‘one to look out for’ as they want a new midfielder and could have something up their sleeve very soon.

Speaking earlier today, he said: “I think there’s still something else up their sleeves. I think Wolves will be in for a midfielder today, so it’s one to look out for”.

Do you remember who Wolves signed Ivan Cavaleiro from?

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…

So far this deadline day, Wolves have been linked with more outgoings than incomings, including the likes of Willy Boly who’s joined Nottingham Forest and Leander Dendoncker, who has reportedly agreed to a £13m deal with Aston Villa.

With this potential outgoing of Dendoncker, we feel they will need a replacement and add to their huge £122.94m bill if they are to stay competitive and improve the squad.

But considering goals are their biggest problem right now, we think they should look to bring in an attack-minded midfielder who can help the likes of Guedes, Nunes, Raul Jimenez and Pedro Neto. There are currently no standout names on the horizon, but with the craziness of deadline day, you have to keep your eyes open at all times because a breakthrough can come out of nowhere.
