West Ham United and Czech Republic right-back Vladimír Coufal has been rated as the worst-performing player at the London Stadium over the last month.

That is according to CIES Football Observatory’s player rankings, which rates players on a match-by-match basis using data from OptaPro.

The 30-year-old has been given a rating of 69.7/100 for his Premier League performances over the last month, suggesting that the right-back has been performing to a sub-par standard for David Moyes’ side.

However, we’re here to take a look to see whether Coufal’s ranking is fair by looking at the stats from last month’s performances.

The West Ham regular has played for the majority of the previous four games, with the full-back coming off the bench as a first-half substitute in the club’s 1-0 win at Aston Villa last month.

However, the side’s form has not picked up since then, with the east London side having earned just a singular point in the following three games, conceding four goals in the process.

Whilst Coufal cannot be held directly responsible, he has been part of a side that currently sit in the Premier League’s bottom three, having earned just four points from a possible 21.

The 30-cap Czech’s individual performance rating has been indifferent according to SofaScore with an impressive 7.0 rating earned in a draw with Tottenham Hotspur being followed up by disappointing 6.2 and 6.8 ratings in defeats against Chelsea and Everton respectively.

West Ham United fans, who were these players sold to? Starting with Felipe Anderson

The £5.4m signing from Slavia Prague had a particularly torrid time in the club’s defeat at Everton last time out, losing possession 28 times in the game and only achieving a pass accuracy success rate of 66% (29/44) according to the same stats provider.

Meanwhile, WhoScored provides a statistically similar story, with the right-back being unable to achieve a match rating better than 6.53 over the past four fixtures, perhaps showing that he has been an underwhelming presence in the side.

Unfortunately for Coufal, the stats and table don’t seem to lie, and it seems that in this instance, the Czech international’s ranking as the lowest-ranked player in the side over the past month may well be justified.
