West Ham United may well have been disadvantaged by multiple questionable VAR calls during their most recent match.
Over the weekend, the Hammers were beaten in rather controversial circumstances during their latest Premier League clash.
Indeed, while the game ended 2-1 to Chelsea, the Irons had a late goal chalked off after Jarrod Bowen was harshly judged to have made a foul in the build-up.
However, earlier in the game, there was another key incident that went against West Ham that could have changed the outcome of the match as well.
Indeed, in footage shared online, Chelsea’s Reece James can be seen deliberately connecting studs-up with Michail Antonio on the thigh as the striker jogs past him.

As is shown clearly, James knows full well what he is doing and with the ball nowhere in sight, he could have been given a red card for violent conduct.

A similar off-the-ball incident happened in another Chelsea game when Cristian Romero of Tottenham Hotspur pulled the hair of Marc Cucurella. While no red card was given on that occasion either, former referee Dermot Gallagher later claimed that it should have been.
While James’ kick isn’t quite as obvious, it still exists in the same category of questionable behaviour. In the end, though, West Ham didn’t get this call. And so their fans must be pretty furious to be on the wrong side of not just one but two key decisions against Chelsea.
