ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United may possibly look to now sign some players on a free transfer.

It was a pretty busy summer transfer window for the Hammers. Indeed, notable money was spent on the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Gianluca Scamacca, Nayef Aguerd, Maxwel Cornet, Thilo Kehrer and others.

However, with the market now closed, it seems as though more incomings could yet arrive. Indeed, clubs are still able to sign free agents, so West Ham may well look to bring someone else in over the coming weeks or months.

Indeed, in a new post shared on The West Ham Way’s Patreon page following reported target Ross Barkley’s move to Nice on a free, Ex stated that it ‘remains to be seen’ if the Hammers chase anyone else, with players of a ‘decent pedigree’ still available for nothing.

He explained: “There are other players with decent pedigree still available on free transfers and it remains to be seen whether West Ham will bid for any of them.”

In the same post, he explained Barkley – who has just signed for French club Nice on a free transfer – was a possible target and so more players like that could be considered by the club.

Fellow Premier League side Wolves are also making the most of the free-agent market, as they look close to signing Diego Costa, who is currently without a club. The striker will come in to help fill the void left by Sasa Kalajdzic, who has just suffered an ACL injury.

Interestingly enough, earlier on in the summer, Ex claimed that West Ham were offered the chance to sign out-of-contract Jason Denayer. With the player still available on a free and the transfer market shut, perhaps they will now revisit that option if David Moyes feels as though another defender is needed – which may well be the case after a move for Southampton’s Jan Bednarek collapsed just before the transfer deadline.
