ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca has returned to training and may be available to play this weekend.

Last time out for the Hammers, the Italian missed their Premier League match and it remains unclear as to whether or not he will be back in action soon.

Indeed, in an update by manager David Moyes (via football.london), he explained that ‘following illness’ Scamacca may miss the Chelsea match and so it will be a late decision on the striker.

However, in a new post to The West Ham Way Patreon, Ex was able to provide some potentially positive news for the club, as their forward seems to have recovered somewhat from his virus.

The insider wrote: “Gianluca Scamacca missed the Spurs game with a virus as we exclusively revealed on Wednesday but we can also confirm that he has trained since the game and could be available for selection.”

TIF Thoughts on Gianluca Scamacca and West Ham…

Hopes will likely be high of Scamacca impressing this season at West Ham following his £35.5m move from Sassuolo during the past summer transfer market.

And while he has impressed in the early stages of European competition – scoring once in each leg of the Europa Conference League qualifying matches against Viborg FF – he is yet to get off the mark in the Premier League.

With the club struggling as a whole in that competition so far, with just four points after their first five games, it would be a huge boost to have the Italian fit for that London derby against Chelsea on Sunday – especially if he was to net his first league goal too.
