Injury specialist, Ben Dinnery, recently claimed West Ham United star, Tomas Soucek, could find himself back in the first team soon after picking up a foot injury and missing their Europa Conference League game.

The Hammers have been plagued by injuries so far this season with the likes of Nayef Aguerd, Ben Johnson, Aaron Cresswell, Craig Dawson, and Gianluca Scamacca all missing games for various reasons.

It looks like they have added another player to that list in Soucek after manager David Moyes revealed the player had picked up a foot injury which was due to keep him out of their Europa Conference League game against FCSB.

However, fortunately for fans, while he did miss that game, Dinnery recently claimed the Czech international could return to the team very soon as his foot problem is ‘nothing too serious’.

Dinnery told the Premier FPL Injuries show, “Tomas Soucek picked up a bit of a foot problem against Chelsea, nothing too serious, but again, David Moyes may look to manage his players ahead of that home tie against Newcastle on Sunday.”

TIF Thoughts on Soucek…

Both the club and the fans will be happy to see their star midfielder return as he has been an integral part of the side so far this season, starting in all six of their Premier League games so far this season.

He is already off the mark this season with one goal, which came in their 1-1 draw with London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, a game in which they were unlucky not to pick up all three points.

As well as chipping in with a goal here and there, Soucek has shown himself to be an elite defensive unit for the Hammers, as he currently ranks in the 98th percentile for both clearances and aerials won per game, with 3.04 and 3.89, compared to other midfielders in Europe’s top five leagues.

Now, with this weekend’s games being postponed, Soucek will be handed a longer period of time to recover which may certainly work to the midfielder’s favour.
