Tottenham Hotspur seem unlikely to conduct any business today – unless “something comes completely out of the blue”.

That is according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge, who was speaking to This is Futbol about Spurs’ potential business on transfer deadline day.

Antonio Conte has already welcomed eight new faces to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, with most of their business being conducted early on in the window.

The club have also seen ten departures during the transfer window, in what has been a busy few months for Conte, director of football Fabio Paratici, and chairman Daniel Levy.

However, Bridge believes that unless there is a sudden turn of events, the club’s business for this transfer window is now over.

“Unless something comes completely out of the blue – which isn’t impossible with Tottenham – it doesn’t look like anything’s going to happen at the moment.”

TIF Thoughts on Bridge’s comments…

Whilst we believe there may be a tinge of disappointment that there are unlikely to be any more additions at Spurs this transfer window, we believe that fans of the Lilywhites will be delighted with the overall success of their transfer window.

The club are reported to have spent upwards of £150m this summer, suggesting that any more additions would have to be supplemented with a departure, something which seems unlikely at this stage of the transfer window.

Therefore, we believe that Bridge is correct, and any more arrivals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium would require a sudden turn of events in a short amount of time today.
