Ben Jacobs has revealed on The Done Deal Show why Tottenham Hotspur are confident that Harry Kane will sign a new contract.

Despite Kane now seeing Tottenham make clear progress both on and off the pitch by qualifying for the Champions League and Daniel Levy sufficiently backing serial winner Antonio Conte in the transfer market, he’s still yet to sign a new contract.

This may well be down to the fact he wants to see if this continues for more than just one season and one transfer window, but also potentially because of interest being shown in him from Bayern Munich, somewhere he’d almost be guaranteed to win at least some silverware based off of their history in domestic competitions.

Jacobs, however, has admitted that Spurs are still very much confident that Kane will eventually sign a new contract because of his affinity with the club he’s grown up with.

“If you’re having good dialogue with the player, morale is good, you’re in the Champions League, the manager’s doing well and the player has an affinity with the football club and he’s moved beyond those Manchester City links, this is why Tottenham are quite confident and calm.

Will Kane sign a new contract?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

“I think that Kane may turn around at some point and say I just want a new challenge, I want a new league, I want a new country, but right now, it’s more likely that Kane will stay at Tottenham than leave Tottenham.”

TIF Thoughts on Kane’s future…

Kane’s future seems to rest at the door of both Levy and Conte, as if he’s to remain at Spurs, he needs to see that the club are progressing towards being serious competitors in both the league and Champions League. Otherwise, he could well end up retiring with no silverware to show for a fruitful time in front of goal.

That would be absolutely criminal for a player of Kane’s ability because as things stand, the only thing he may well have when it comes to retirement is potentially becoming the league’s all-time top scorer if he can overtake Alan Shearer.

If Spurs fail to win anything this season and also miss out on the top four that could well be enough to see both Kane and Conte start looking at moves to other clubs where they feel success could be more attainable.
