Journalist Rob Guest has warned that Antonio Conte will face a huge task in managing Tottenham Hotspur through an upcoming run of 13 games in 43 days.

As we head into the international break, Spurs are in a pretty good place. Indeed, they have made a fine start to the Premier League and this is reflected by where they sit on the table.

Conte’s men are currently third in the league, level on points with Manchester City, and one point off first-placed Arsenal, having won five and drawn two of their opening seven games.

However, things will soon become hectic for Tottenham – mainly due to the 2022 World Cup getting underway in two months – with fixture congestion set to wreak havoc on the footballing calendar.

Indeed, on Twitter, Guest highlighted his concern, tweeting: “Antonio Conte and Tottenham are about to face a huge test.”

In an article for football.london, Guest then elaborated on his fears explaining that in this run of 13 games in 43 days – which begins with a top-of-the-table north London derby clash away against Arsenal – Tottenham’s season really could be shaped.

Spurs will also have to travel to Manchester United and host Liverpool in the Premier League, while having to contend with regular midweek Champions League fixtures, and a Carabao Cup tie away against Nottingham Forest.

All in all, this may well be one of the most difficult tasks of Conte’s career as he looks to keep the club challenging at the top of the table. At least though, plenty of other teams in England and across Europe will face similar issues, with the winter World Cup causing problems across the sport.
