Ben Jacobs has ruled out a possible return to Tottenham Hotspur for Mauricio Pochettino while speaking on The Done Deal Show.

Rumours have started to circulate over the last few days about the future of Antonio Conte given that his current contract only runs until the end of this season and he’s now being tipped with a job back in Serie A.

This is because Massimiliano Allegri’s future at Juventus is being widely discussed within the media given their poor start to the season which has seen them win just twice across all competitions, and while Conte leaving would strike fear into many Spurs fans, someone who wouldn’t be replacing him, which may be further bad news, is Pochettino according to Jacobs.

The Argentinian is said to have never been a contender to return to Tottenham under Levy as Jacobs has spoken about.

“I think that Pochettino to Spurs may have had its day. It may have had possibilities in the previous seasons that have gone by, and for whatever reason, Daniel Levy has never been a fan of going back to Pochettino, so why would he suddenly change his mind?”

TIF Thoughts on Pochettino…

When Tottenham were looking for Nuno Espirito Santo’s successor in 2021, Pochettino was touted as a potential candidate while still in a job at Paris Saint-Germain, although they opted for Conte instead and have seemingly never looked back.

However, with former fan-favourite manager Pochettino now out of work and Conte being tipped with a return to Serie A, the stars may well align for Levy to make an emotional appointment for someone who guided them to a Champions League final and countless top four finishes.

How well do you know where these Spurs signings came from? Take our quiz to find out! Firstly, where did Dimitar Berbatov arrive from?

Although, if things continue to go as they have been since Conte took over and Tottenham continue to back him and progress season upon season, the Italian may well see no reason as to why he would leave for a club such as Juventus who appear to be in disarray.
