Tottenham Hotspur have the option to make Dejan Kulusevski’s loan move from Juventus permanent at the end of this season – and Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold has suggested doing so would be an absolute no-brainer when speaking on the Last Word On Spurs YouTube channel.

It had been reported earlier in the week by Fabrizio Romano that Spurs have a buy option or an obligation for €35m (£31.2m) if Kulusevski makes 20 Premier League appearances this season and Spurs make the top four.

The 22-year-old has already made a big influence on Antonio Conte’s side having played in every Premier League game since his arrival in January.

And the Italian manager clearly thinks highly of the winger, which has Gold suggesting Spurs will wrap up the permanent deal in one way or another:

He said: “It’s a no-brainer. It really is. Honestly, if there is an option to do it in a cheaper fashion, just get it done. Because it’s going to happen anyway – he’s going to play 20 games, isn’t he?”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

It does indeed feel like an absolute no-brainer for Spurs. The Swedish winger has been a sensation since arriving in north London with 17 goal involvements in 29 appearances.

And at such a young age, we think Spurs would be incredibly foolish to allow Kulusevski to leave when he has so much potential to grow in value.

However, as Gold suggests, if there is the option to get the Swede on board permanently in a cheaper fashion, we think Spurs would be silly not to do so.

That said, there are current injury concerns over the winger, but his game time has been consistently high since arriving, so you would imagine he will quickly activate his league appearance clause.
