Journalist Charlie Bennett has been left gutted after hearing the news that Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has picked up an injury.

Whenever there is an international break, supporters are often left fearing any potential fitness issues their favourite stars could pick up while away from their parent clubs.
Unfortunately for the Magpies, it seems as though these concerns have come true for one of their key players. Indeed, Isak was forced to leave Sweden’s international camp this week after suffering an injury and has returned to England as a precaution.
In reaction to this worrying development, Bennett took to Twitter to outline his frustration over the latest Newcastle fitness concern, even calling it a curse.
He wrote: “Alexander Isak injured. Wow. Somebody at the Hoppings definitely cursed Newcastle United back in the day.”

TIF thoughts on Alexander Isak and Newcastle…

Having signed Isak for a club-record £63m fee from Real Sociedad – and seeing him score two goals in three games since – the striker is a key player for the club so any major injury would be a big blow for the club.

Indeed, alternative option Callum Wilson is also currently out suffering from his own fitness issue. On top of that, Allan Saint-Maximin, Elliot Anderson, Jonjo Shelvey, Karl Darlow, and Emil Krafth are also all out with injuries –  hence the ‘cursed’ claim made by Bennett.

After a slow start to the season – where they have won just one Premier League game – Newcastle need all the help they can get right now. And so this concerning update is the last thing fans would have wanted to hear.
