Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes has posted a potentially encouraging video on Instagram amidst reports he was sent home early from international duty.

It has been a pretty bleak time of things when it comes to Newcastle’s injury woes, with the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak also having picked up knocks since the campaign kicked off.

Guimaraes appears to have potentially been the most unfortunate given that he was injured during a cameo appearance in the EFL Cup against Tranmere Rovers, and despite making his comeback against Bournemouth recently, he has now been sent home from international duty without playing a single minute due to another injury setback.

However, the midfielder has since posted a video on Instagram of him back in the gym at the club’s Benton training ground, which should be a positive sign for fans and Eddie Howe:

Will Guimaraes play on Saturday?

Yes!

TIF Thoughts on Guimaraes’ injury problem…

When news emerged about Guimaraes picking up a knock while away with Brazil, it may have sent shivers down the spines of Howe and the Newcastle faithful, but this simple video should now be filling them with joy.

Reports only started to emerge yesterday about Guimaraes being sent home by Brazil, so for him to already be back at the training ground and in the gym highlights how determined he is to get back fit and also that his knock may not be as severe as first feared.

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

We think Howe will be desperate for Guimaraes to be back and fully fit once again as they are still unbeaten this season with him in their team, and with a game against newly promoted Fulham on Saturday, Howe will know he needs to be picking up three points – something Newcastle haven’t managed to do since the opening day.
