Prior to Eddie Howe’s press conference, Bruno Guimaraes dropped a potential hint at his anticipated Newcastle United return.

Howe has recently been speaking about injuries to his first team players and who could be in line to face Fulham this weekend and he did claim that Guimaraes had trained since returning from international duty earlier, although he did stop himself early and wouldn’t say if he’d be ready to start.

Guimaraes did indeed start Newcastle’s last game which was a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth but then didn’t represent his country due to an ongoing injury issue, but that appears to now be behind the midfielder.

This is because before Howe even spoke about how he was after returning last week, the midfielder posted a picture of him wearing his famous 39 shirt ahead of this weekend’s clash.

TIF Thoughts on Guimaraes’ return…

Eddie Howe will be desperate to see the Brazilian international fully fit and declare himself ready to go from the off at Craven Cottage as the Magpies have indeed only lost four times out of the 15 league games he’s started.

While it appears that Guimaraes has a great chance of starting vs Fulham, nothing is guaranteed and Howe may well see it as a risk too far, especially after two injuries in such a short period of time have hampered his season thus far.
