Presenter Mark Goldbridge has slammed Manchester United for the impending departure of young midfielder James Garner.
According to a recent report in The Athletic, Everton have agreed a deal with the Red Devils to land the 21-year-old for an initial fee of £9m that could rise to £15.5m.
While talking about that news and United’s other business across the span of the summer – including the £86m deal for Antony – Goldbridge didn’t seem content at all.
Indeed, he made his feelings known while speaking on The United Stand, saying: “If you’re happy, that’s fine. My opinion is you’re a mug if you are happy with this summer’s transfer window. We’ve just sold James Garner for £9m quid, it’s a disgrace.
“We won’t sell Wan-Bissaka. We’ve kept six or seven players that should have been kicked out of the club. And we’ve paid way over the odds for people like Antony.”
Are you happy with James Garner leaving Manchester United for that price?

TIF thoughts on James Garner and Manchester United…
Last season, Garner impressed while out on loan with Nottingham Forest and played a key role as they got promoted to the Premier League.
Considering Forest have just signed former Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White for £42.5m – who also played in the Championship last season – it’s fair to say United may well have been able to get more money in their sale of Garner had they been a little savvier.
Taking that into account and the lack of sales for unwanted players like Aaron Wan-Bissaka, it’s clear to see why Goldbridge is so unhappy despite big-money moves for players like Antony from Ajax.
