Leicester City are now at serious risk of losing another centre-half in the coming days with Caglar Soyuncu potentially heading for an exit.

This is according to reliable transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who has been speaking on the Que Golazo YouTube channel to discuss the potential departure of the Turkish defender.

The 26-year-old is yet to feature under Brendan Rodgers in the Premier League this season with just five appearances from the bench and 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup to his name (via Transfermarkt).

And Soyuncu was not even a part of the latest squad that travelled to the south coast on Sunday and endured a heavy beating by Brighton & Hove Albion.

With the Turkish defender clearly being left out of the manager’s plans at the King Power Stadium, Romano believes a return to his homeland could now be on the cards.

He said: “For Soyuncu, it’s a serious possibility. He was out of the squad at Leicester because they are negotiating with Galatasaray. The player is tempted by this possibility but it depends also on the conditions of the deal.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

The Turkish market remains open until the end of this week and 90min also reports Galatasaray remain in pole position to land the 26-year-old before the deadline, which shuts in Turkey on Thursday.

It is apparent Soyuncu has well and truly fallen down the ladder at Leicester, with the defender’s game time dwindling towards the back end of last season.

However, having seen Wesley Fofana and Kasper Schmeichel depart this summer, this would be another big departure for Rodgers to oversee.

Had the Foxes started off the season in fine form, this may not be such a big deal, but on the back of a 5-2 drubbing and with just one point to their name, it only adds to an underwhelming summer.
