Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch has still got a number of “flaws” in the squad that he needs to sort out.

That is according to journalist Dean Jones, who was speaking to GIVEMESPORT about the latest updates from Elland Road, following the conclusion of the transfer window last week.

Despite a summer overhaul at the club, Jesse Marsch will be relatively happy with how his Leeds side have started the season, with the club sitting in ninth place in the Premier League, following two wins, two draws, and two defeats apiece.

The Whites welcomed eight new signings to Elland Road this summer after the club had to deal with losing England midfielder Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City, and Brazilian forward Raphinha to Barcelona.

However, the club’s most recent fixture was a 5-2 defeat at Brentford, which may have evidenced some of the problems that Jones is referencing.

“I think they are definitely much improved from where they were last season,” Jones told GIVEMESPORT.

“But there are still a couple of flaws in the team that need to be ironed out.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments

We believe that whilst Leeds suffered a heavy defeat at the weekend, the club’s recruitment strategy this summer means that it looks like they have a stronger squad than they did this time last year.

However, the club will need to iron out their defensive fragilities, with the club already conceding ten goals in the Premier League so far this season.

Therefore, we agree with Jones and believe that whilst they seem to be in a better position squad-wise than what they were last year, Marsch still has obvious issues that need to be addressed for Leeds to have a successful season in the top flight.
