Everton centre-back Conor Coady has raved about teammate Idrissa Gueye, following the club’s 1-0 Premier League victory over West Ham United on Sunday.
The man on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers has posted on his Instagram story after the Toffees secured their first Premier League win of the season.
Everton re-signed Gueye from Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day, for a fee thought to be worth £2m.
The 94-time Senegal midfielder had initially moved to the Ligue 1 giants for a fee of around £30m in the summer of 2019, but has now returned to Goodison Park under the management of Frank Lampard.
And Coady has expressed his delight at the 32-year-old’s performance against David Moyes’ side.
“Tell you what this fella is up there with the best… what a fella,” Coady posted on his Instagram story.
TIF Thoughts on Coady’s post
We believe that Coady’s post demonstrates good camaraderie and team spirit within the Everton camp at the moment, and this is a testament to the way Lampard has turned things around since his arrival at Goodison Park in January of this year.
And the former Wolves man’s praise of Gueye seems to be justified, with the midfielder earning himself a SofaScore rating of 7.3 for the fixture after playing 90% of accurate passes, winning four out of five ground duels, and winning both of his aerial duels throughout the game.
Therefore, we think that Lampard will be delighted that he has managed to add Gueye to his squad this season, with the midfielder likely to have a huge say in where Everton end up finishing this season.
Coming from judas I wouldn’t put too much on his comments.
