Simon Jordan has admitted that he’s unconvinced by the job Frank Lampard has managed to do at Everton.
It is quite an interesting debate as to whether or not Lampard has done a good job at Goodison Park, given that he did indeed manage to keep them up last season, but now approaching October, the Toffees have just one league win under their belt.
When Lampard took over, he found the Toffees in 16th and four points above the bottom three, but after spending £70m over the summer, Everton now find themselves in 13th and three points above the relegation zone which could suggest he is on the right path at this early stage.
However, speaking on TalkSport’s YouTube channel, Jordan is still yet to be convinced that Lampard has done a good job at Goodison Park.
“I suppose it could be worse, and I suppose if you want to look through the glass of ‘it could be worse’, then Everton are doing better than perhaps they could be. But I can’t sit here and say, ‘oh, Frank Lampard’s done a great job’ because I’m not sure he has.

“But he also got dealt not a great hand, but he was also responsible for taking Dele Alli in and people like that, that cost the club money that produced absolutely nothing.”
TIF Thoughts on Lampard’s job at Everton…
Considering how much Everton spent during the summer, they will likely be expecting to see some return and hope for at least a mid-table finish under Lampard’s watchful eye, although their lack of ideas and goal threat will likely continue to be a cause for concern.
While Everton do boast the second-best defence in the Premier League, it’s at the other end where they have struggled, with just five goals this season so far, which puts them inside the bottom three in that department.
Lampard will be hoping that staying away from the relegation zone this season will be enough to show progress and that he’s the right man to lead Everton into an exciting new dawn in their new stadium in the not-too-distant future, although just beating the drop won’t likely be very exciting for many Evertonians.
