Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha may end up signing a new contract at Patrick Vieira’s side, after the club offered him a new deal to stay at Selhurst Park.
That is according to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay, who was speaking to GiveMeSport about the latest news from Selhurst Park.
Zaha has now entered the final year of his £130k-per-week deal, meaning that the Ivory Coast international is free to negotiate with clubs from abroad on a pre-contract basis in January or become a free agent at the end of the season.
The Sun’s Jack Rosser has reported that a new contract has been drawn up in the hope that Zaha will stay at Selhurst Park beyond this season, or at least secure the club a transfer fee if the wide man was to leave the club in the near future.
And referencing those reports, Barclay believes that there is now a strong possibility that the 29-year-old forward commits his short-term future to the club by signing a new deal at Selhurst Park, saying:
“He’s an absolute Palace legend.
“Palace are going all kinds of the right direction at the moment, and as Jack reports, there is a contract offer on the table for him.
“So, I wouldn’t be surprised if he did end up signing and staying for longer, which would be obviously fantastic news from Palace’s perspective.”

We believe that Palace fans would be absolutely delighted to see Zaha, who has been described as “irreplaceable” by Malik Ouzia, sign a new deal at the club, owing to the fact that he makes a claim for being the best player in the club’s history.
The 28-time Ivory Coast international has made 435 appearances for the Eagles across two different spells at the club, scoring 87 goals and providing 73 assists in that time according to Transfermarkt.
He was part of the Palace squad that won promotion through the play-offs to the Premier League in 2013, and played a part in the club’s run to the FA Cup final in 2016, despite eventually losing the final to Manchester United.
Therefore, we believe that those in the boardroom at Palace will be doing everything they can to convince Zaha to commit his short, and potentially long-term future to the London club.
