Presenter Dan Cook has tipped David Ozoh to possible make an impact at senior level as Crystal Palace struggle for midfield options.

In recent reports from Italian media outlet Tuttomercatoweb, club captain Luka Milivojevic could be on his way out of the club and heading to Olympiacos

On top of that, an article from The Athletic claimed that Palace have essentially ‘moved on from’ Jairo Riedewald with his future in great doubt.

With those two senior midfielder’s evidently not in a great position at the club, Cook has suggested that one of the star academy prospects could ‘move up the ranks’ for the Eagles soon.

Indeed, when speaking on the HLTCO Patreon podcast, the presenter said (7:47): “We may well see David Ozoh be thrown in at the deep end. I think he is someone who has shown a real upward mobility in the last year or so.

“He has been given chances to impress over on that tour of Singapore and Australia and done very well. And he is that combative and quite physically imposing presence, despite his tender age.

“So maybe this year we’ll see him really move up the ranks to potentially be a part of the Crystal Palace first team squad in the Premier League.”

Will Jairo Riedewald be at Crystal Palace by the start of next season?

TIF Thoughts on David Ozoh and Crystal Palace…

Still only 17 years of age, the teenager signed a professional contract with the club back in August on the back of a spell travelling with the first team for their preseason tour.

With that in mind, it’s clear Palace think highly of him and will no doubt hope he can make an impact at senior level one day. However, it remains to be seen how far off that occasion is.

While there is plenty of doubt over the current capabilities of both Milivojevic and Riedewald, Ozoh still hasn’t made his competitive debut for the Eagles and so it would be a big ask for him to come in and play Premier League football any time soon.

Still, a couple of injuries could hit the wrong players and suddenly the 17-year-old might be a potential option to call upon.
