90min journalist, Toby Cudworth has slammed the idea that Jack Grealish could leave his club amid transfer rumours and previous suggestions he could return to his former club Aston Villa.

Villa fans will be bitterly disappointed to see that any of their hopes of signing former star man Jack Grealish, who recently left the club for a phenomenal £100m to their Premier League rivals, returning to the club amid rumours of him wanting to leave.

It was recently reported that the Manchester City star man was unhappy at the club and he expects to leave in the next couple of seasons, Tony Cascarino previously claimed he could see Grealish back at Villa if he does not improve his form this season.

However, Cudworth threw cold water over these speculations during a recent interview on the Talking Transfers podcast as he claimed Grealish is happy at the club and wants to continue playing in Manchester.

He said, “We collate the transfer rumours from around the world daily on the site, but unfortunately, the Jack Grealish rumour that we’d picked up from elsewhere, was attributed to us saying exactly what you’ve said, Scott, but he doesn’t see much of a long term future at City and that he’d told those close to him that he was kind of knew that he had maybe a year left and he’d have to start looking at his next move.

“Graham has since done a bit of digging for us made some calls and found out that that’s not the case. He’s quite happy at Manchester City as he would be given how well they’re doing.” (27:19)

TIF Thoughts on Grealish to Villa…

While Grealish may not have hit the heights that were expected of him during his brief stint at City, a possible return to Villa feels far away and would not benefit Grealish’s career in any way. Even if he was to leave City, he could go to a far better side than Villa.

During his first two seasons at the club, the England international has managed just seven goals and four assists in 45 games across all competitions, which is a far fall from his last season at Villa where he grabbed seven goals and 12 assists in just 27 appearances.

If Villa were to get Grealish back he would help take them to the next level, but it feels like a huge step back for Grealish. The cost it would take to bring him back as well just does not work for Villa as they have spent a huge amount in the last few seasons.
